Social and cultural norms are present in almost every aspect of our daily actions – such as men opening the door for women. It’s not a bad thing. It’s a social norm.
Sociology or cultural anthropology have long studied and interpreted the role and functions of social and cultural norms in shaping individual behaviors. We can use this information to change or create them to achieve necessary change.
